I found this article on "cracked.com." It made me shake my head in sadness. Everyday, everyone's personal space gets smaller and smaller due to the ruthless tactics of ads and advertisers. When, and where, will it end?Original article found here:http://www.cracked.com/article_16434_5-creepiest-advertising-techniques-near-future.htmlHomepage: http://www.cracked.com/I also cut and pasted the whole article, if you wary surfers don't want to travel to another site. Article under the cut.
Nathan Birch also writes the invasively cute webcomic Zoology.
i didn't read the whole thing, but what i did read creeped me out :(
Yeah, especially bullet point #2. I guess I won't talk to people when I walk down the street in big cities. I can only assume that people yapping on their cell phones are undercover advertisers.~~N
i am surprised that people find any of this surprising.then again, i worked for an internet marketing company for a while.
I'm currently working in a project where basically with a mobile phone you'll be able to gain access to any number of venues (like clubs, concerts, events) without ever reaching for your wallet or having to talk to anyone.
Neat stuff! I think viral marketing is fascinating. Of course I have the privilege of education to recognize it, and other more subtle advertising methods. I am a business major. One of my sisters is a marketing executive and the other is a packaging designer. We have fun watching TV together picking out all the advertising methods. Yes, we are business nerds.Side note: I DESPISE those holiday car commercials.
